The project
Custom red kitchen cabinets in a deep, burgundy-toned red, set against warm wood, pale stone counters and brass — a kitchen built around real colour.
This red kitchen renovation was for clients who knew from the start that they wanted colour. Not an accent wall or a painted island, but red kitchen cupboards in a deep, confident red running the length of the room — and everything else chosen to sit calmly around it.
The layout was reworked before any colour was decided. Sink, range and prep surface were brought into a working triangle along one run, tall storage was pushed to the ends so the sightlines stayed open, and the island was sized to seat the family without blocking the path through the room. Deep drawers and pull-outs replaced the old low cupboards, so everything in daily use sits at hand height.
Cabinetry is custom throughout: shaker doors sprayed in a deep red with a hard-wearing finish, a glass-fronted upper to break up the run, and open shelving in warm wood. Pale stone counters and a full-height tiled range wall keep the red from closing the room in, and unlacquered brass hardware and fittings warm it further. The result reads as deliberate rather than loud.

Planning — Before demolition begins, we set a realistic schedule, a materials list and a detailed budget. The client knows what will be done each week, who will be on site, and which decisions need to be made ahead of time so that nothing stalls the work. With a colour this strong, samples are sprayed and seen in the room before anything is ordered.
Execution — The work is carried out by a small, consistent crew. Cabinetry and millwork are built to measure, installed and then adjusted on site, so the doors, drawers and reveals line up the way they should.
Finishing — The last stage is the slowest one. Paint, lighting, sealant, hardware adjustments and a full clean-up: this is the difference between a kitchen that is properly delivered and one that is merely finished.
